These four (4) versions of the classic folk tune: "Londonderry Air" ("Danny Boy") were rendered from the same MIDI sequence by using different computer orchestra "instruments." I originally made the first three versions to audition (for family and friends) while trying to decide whether to buy "Synful Orchestra," which I enthusiastically purchased in 2007.
- The "SMOSynthStrings" version used a Kurzweil 2500 program that I believe may have been a Synclavier sample. I chose the patch/program/sound only because it was one of the orchestral, string-type programs that I used before obtaining "Synful Orchestra" and later, "Garritan Personal Orchestra."
- The "SynfulStrings" version uses "Synful Orchestra." I "fear" that soon everyone will know what a wonderful tool that "SO" is.... and, will make recordings that sound like mine. Not really...

- The "SynfulandSMOStr" version uses both "Synful Orchestra" and the "SMOSynthStrings" Kurzweil program discussed above. This is a nice blend of the two instruments and gives me ideas concerning how to create unique blends using both tools.
- The "GarritonPersonalOrchestra" version uses Garritan's Personal Orchestra virtual instrument. I acquired this in the fall of 2010 and it is the newest addition to my arsenal of sounds.
