These three (3) versions of the classic folk tune: "Londonderry Air" ("Danny Boy") were rendered from the same MIDI sequence (arranged, performed, and recorded by Stan Owen, Jr.) by using different "instruments." Each version was made to audition (for family and friends) while trying to decide whether to buy "Synful Orchestra." (I bought it enthusiastically in 2007). The "SMOSynthStrings" version used a Kurzweil 2500 program that I believe may have been a Synclavier sample. I chose the patch/program/sound only to say that was one of the string-function programs I used before obtaining "Synful Orchestra." The "SynfulStrings" version uses "Synful Orchestra." This is my current most carefully guarded secret. (Ha!). I fear that soon everyone will know what a wonderful tool that "SO" is.... The "SynfulandSMOStr" version uses both "Synful Orchestra" and the "SMOSynthStrings" Kurzweil program discussed above. This is a nice blend of the two instruments and gives me ideas concerning how to create unique blends using both tools. The "GarritonPersonalOrchestra" version uses Garritan’s Personal Orchestra. This is the newest addition to my arsenal of sounds. I hope you enjoy listening to these. http://www.creativemindsmusic.com/audio_files/mp3/Classical and Folk/Londonderry Air Versions/ Regards, Stan Owen, Jr. Copyright 2012, Creative Minds' Music All Rights Reserved
